I have officially finished my first week of being in the classroom and I love it! I was really sad that I was finished, I wanted to stay later, but I had to catch the bus. I had really good day, I taught my first English lesson with the kids and they, for the most part, responded well and attentively. While I was writing on the board (in my teacher handwriting) on of the wee little ones kept "speaking out" so I told him if I heard another outburst he would have to move his traffic light. A few minutes later, he said, "Ms. Venable, I'm sorry I spoke out, I really am." I said thank you____, I really like that you are only answering when you are called upon. Also today, while Mrs. Mardon was teaching Maths, I looked out the window and saw the most beautiful and peaceful sight. There is a meadow behind the school and grazing in the meadow was a huge Clydesdale horse just walking very slowly. He was a light golden brown with white huffs and the typical long hair by his feet. I wanted so badly to take a picture...but it was in the middle of class...so I couldn't. But now I have a mission to see that amazing creature and get a picture. I thought to myself only in Scotland could I look out my window and see a horse like that walking by.
Tonight we went to a jazz concert at one of the high schools and I was so impressed by the talent. there was one girl there and I felt like I was listening to one of those relaxing CD's that they play in malls. She was so good and played her saxophone with such ease. It was really good to support that program and get to see some of the neat things that are going on in Falkirk.
Tomorrow we leave for the Highlands! I will see where Braveheart was filmed and the Highland cows, and the rolling hills of Scotland! I'll try to put pictures on when I get back, but I'll be touring until Sunday! It has been such a blessing to be here and experience the things I have gotten to see. I can't wait to see what God has in store for us this weekend and the weeks ahead! I love you all so much! Miss you bunches!
