So I offically started school today! I had sooooo much fun! I am teaching Primary 2, which is 6 year olds...right up my alley! My head teacher is so organized and has a good handle on her class. I have 30...that's right 30 students, but I love all of them so much. Each of them have a very unique personality but they all bring something to the table. I will say that it didn't take to long to figure out who the "trouble makers" were in the class. They are two boys but the very interesting thing about them is that they come from very, very opposite lifestyles. One comes from a very well to do family, but the other one comes from a very poor family. I really think that they both just really want attention and they are willing to do anything to get it.
There were a few things that were interesting things that I like. One was their uniforms; they are really cute and the ties are already tied but are on stretchy strings do they just put them over their heads...I thought the boys would appreciate them. They have very good manners and every morning and afternoon they say "good morning Ms. Venable and good afternoon Ms. Venable."
Today I got to work one on one with one little boy. It suprised me that when he would spell things out instead of saying the letters he would say the sounds. We were working on rhyming and he would say I need to find the pattern for "ei" "er" "ei" for ere...like for there. I also got to read them a book this afternoon. I thought they were laughing at the book...but no. They were laughing at me...one little boy spoke up and said "you talk funny," I said..well you talk funny too. Then he asked me if I speak english or I spoke spanish. I told him I speak english, but I know a wee bit of spanish. He said can you count to five...I said yes and he said oh, well so can I.
I also had a little boy during art moving his hip, so I walked closer to him and he was singing, "Don't you wish your girlfriend was hot like me.." (for those that don't know, it is a pop rock song) It was really funny!
Well, that was my first day of school. I'll have to check and see if I'm aloud to take pictures of them...they have to have filled out permission slips at the beginning of the year. Well, I'll let you know the reat of this week goes! Love ya bunches!
