Edinburgh Part Two!

Today we went back to Edinburgh and went on Princes Street, but I happened upon no Princes...oh well it was still fun! We spent our morning at a Rugby tournament and it was so cool! After that we walked for a long time and just observed the city and the culture and everything around us. Aubry and I decided that all the guys here are either very "metro" or very "athletic" looking...it was so fun! I got to drink hot chocolate ouside a coffee shop and just "blend in" to the people. It was so relaxing and amazing that I am actually here! I had so much fun today but it has gone by so fast, I only have about 4 weeks left! We definately had a lot of fun and I am anxious about going to Church tomorrow and worshipping with the brothers and sisters here! I miss everyone so much and wish they could see what I am seeing and experience what I am experiencing! here are a few pictures from today:

This is courtney and I at the Rugby games!

Edinburgh here we come!

This is the place where J.K. Rollins wrote Harry Potter
Me and Aubry from the top of the castle
Me in front of part of the castle..beautiful!
A Real Scottishman!!!
They have these in Scotland too!

Today I got to take my first train ride and see my first real castle! We went into Edinburgh and got the whole day to do whatever we wanted! We walked the Royal Mile.....like 4 times, and they call it the royal MILE for a reason. Needless to say, my legs are tired! And for the Harry Potter fans I ate lunch at a place called the Elephant House, which happens to be the place that J.K Rollins wrote the first Harry Potter book. I also got to see the school that she supposively got the idea for Hogwarts. After lunch we got to tour the castle and I felt like a princess. it was Beautiful and I felt like I could see for miles! I had so much fun and the best part is we get to go tomorrow and walk down the other main street called Princes street...maybe I'll find my Prince! I also got the oppurtunity to see some bagpipers and get my picture with them....FUN!!! Anyways, here are a few pictures from today!

Exploring Larbert!

Today we got to tour Larbert which is a "suburb" of Edinburgh! We went to the main street of the town which is called high street...see I'm learning all sorts of new things! I really don't know what some of these buildings are, but it is facinating to me that modern buisnesses have such cool buildings. I am tired! But I am really, really excited about tonight! We are having a banquet/dinner with our teachers. I can't wait to see what they (mine in particular) looks like, act like, and what they are expecting from me. Mike (our leader) told us that four of the principlas are coming and possibly some of the men and women from the board of Education could be coming. Needless to say, there will be important people there! Other than that, it rained this morning and semi-drizzled this afternoon. For those that know what Green Valley is like...it felt like GVBC early in the morning after is has rained and cooled everything down (except here it was a little bit cooler)! It was so peaceful, we don't have airconditioning in our rooms, but I don't think we would ue it anyways becasue I love to hear the birds sing and the rain fallling on the trees and grass! I wish everyone could experience this feeling! I know I have school work and a lot of it, but a the same time, I feel like I don't have a care in the world! Great huh?! Well, here are a few pictures from High street and the counrtyside on the way there!

This looks straight out of the movie Pride and Prejudice! Love it!!! This was a church...right in the middle of what we would consider a very busy street!
Those are there street signs...fancy!
Well, that is all I got for today, I'll let you know hw tonight and the next few days go! Love to my homies! God Bless!

And the countdown begins!

Well, a week from this time exactly I will be boarding a plane for Detroit that will eventually get me to Edinbourgh, Scotland. I am soooo excited, but overwhelmed at this point. I got my international student ID and my plane tickets this week. So natuarally I started packing ( I mean really packing...in a suitcase, instead of making list after list) a few days ago. My dad walked into my room and said "are you already packing...you don't leave for two weeks"..I very seriously looked up at him and said "yes...but I leave in 10 days..not 2 weeks."

Let me update you on what has been going on lately...

My mom went out to Phoenix until Saturday to help Robert and Amanda...
I've been working at Robinson Ave. and we just had our Senior Sunday and Senior Roast.

While I'm sad that I'm going to miss the month of June with the youth group, I'm okay with it becasue I know they are in good hands. The senior girls are awesome and they have such a passion to encourage others and be a light everywhere they go. Also the senior high boys are as amaing as the girls. They want so badly to be leaders and really step up as leaders in not only our youth group but also in their schools, and at Robinson Ave. as a whole. I know Kyle will have everything under control and I can't wait to hear from them while I am in Scotland so they can keep me in the loop.
Oh, I can't forget our Jr. High group. Each of them hve more energy than I could every grasp, but because they have that energy I know they will be great encouragers for Kyle and for the others in the youth. I know that they can and will make an influence this summer and the next few years!

Well, that is about all that is going on in my world, I hope and pray that each of you will continue to let your lights shine and the Godly influence that each of you are in my life! Love ya bunches!

Making a List....Checking it off!

So today is Wednesday...and I've got a lot to do! I finished taking my six finals yesterday and drove home last night. I was unpacking my car and putting stuff in my room and after I got everything in there I had no idea how much stuff I had. Anyways, I spent most of today unpacking and repacking my junk and making a list of things I need for the summer and for Scotland. But my list keeps getting longer and longer and my time is getting shorter and shorter! I must say though that I am ready to go to Scotland, at least mentally, and be in a classroom!
