My third week of school!

My, oh my how time flies!!! I feel like we have only been here for two weeks not 4 and I can't believe how blessed I have been by everyone here and everything I have seen. This week was good but it definitely went by fast! Monday I taught my lesson for Mr. Wood. I think it went good, but there is always room for improvement and there are always things I can work on. The kids seemed to enjoy it and learn from it and in the long run that is more important to me than the grade I get. Let's see, Tuesday was the talent show, and there is some serious talent at my school. One little boy from the Nursery(3yr) did the chicken dance. All he did was flap his hands and then clap his hands, but it was sooooo adorable. Another boy did some self taught break dancing which was by far the funniest for me but he did a really good job and was very entertaining. Oh, and another little boy told jokes, here was the best one:
what is long, brown and sticky........a stick! HAHA

Okay on to Wednesday...this was a normal day a school although I did notice outside my favorite window the cows in the pasture and for those that don't know I am very interested in the behaviors of cows. So I watched and all of the sudden they started galloping down this hill. I slowly walked over to the window so that I wouldn't be noticed and tried to see what they were running from. I saw nothing and figured they all got spooked. But then today I saw them do the same thing so I have come to the conclusion that these cows are having fun and they enjoy running down the hill. This reminds me of the hill that I tried to run down at Urquhart Castle in which I ended up falling down.(I am not saying that I am a cow, but I am saying that they like to have fun just like humans do) Anyways, back to Wednesday. Well then after school a bunch of us decided to go to the Mariner Center and swim in the wave pool. We had a lot of fun but I was tired after we got done. After dinner we had a devo in the hallway out side our rooms. It was really uplifting and great to get to sing with my brothers and sisters here. Now comes the interesting part of Wednesday. We have been planning a karaoke session for about a week now and tonight was the night. So we got our tea and hot chocolate and went upstairs for the event of the week. I was amazed at Emilee's rapping ability..almost as good as mine :) and then Kelly's techno beats were great. But nothing could have prepared me for Kurt's song : Werewolves in London. He got out there and just made us all laugh and I was in complete shock as he prowled around the room singing "ahoooooo, werewolves in London." It was really great! Then Aubrey sang Miss Baltimore Crabs, which was also very entertaining. After that I sang and then Mike sang Butterfly Kisses to Emilee...so sweet, it made all the girls cry (except me)! The last to go was Courtney who sang Uptown Girls and then we ended the night with a dedication to Mike in which we sang "I've had the tie of my life" from Dirty Dancing and then "we go together" from grease! A lot of from and a lot of good laughs and cries!
Thursday was great as well. My kids had music so I stayed with them and took some pictures. I just can't get over the fact that I only have one week left with these kids and then I have to move on. It is overwhelming to think that I may be the only Christian they come into contact with. There is one little boy that I really wish I could reach. He comes from a bad background and while there are days I want to beat his behind, I remember that I can be a light in his dark world and that I need to be someone he can trust and respect not matter how annoyed I get or how frustrated I get with him. I really wish I could have more time here for that reason. It will be so hard to say goodbye to my 30 kids in a week. I just pray that I have been enough to at least let them know there is some good in the world and that someone cares about them.
